It is said that "Necessity is the Mother of Invention." If we need something, there is always a creative person around to invent it. Where would our world be today without all of the millions of inventions that people use everyday? Quite often they are put to use without a thought about their history, creation, or the imagination of the person who first had the initiative to invent. Doing without many of these inventions would result in our everyday lives coming to an immediate halt. Others are so insignificant that we wouldn't miss them if we never saw them again. But no matter what the invention, one thing is true...they originated in a creative mind.
What would you like to invent? Use your own ideas and draw a design for your own invention. Make sure your invention can be used to DO SOMETHING. As you work on your design, think about the following questions...
1. What do I want to invent?
2. How can others benefit from this invention?
3. What will my invention look like?
4. What materials will I need to make my invention?
5. Who could use my invention?
6. If this invention were put on the market, what would its retail value be?
