ACT Teleconferencing on Thursday launched an upgrade of its voice over Internet protocol conferencing system.
ClarionCall II's enhancements include on-demand web
conferencing, web-based conference control, presence awareness and real-time rating and billing.
Like the original product, the upgrade also has business-grade audio quality, multi-level security
and web-based account administration.
Denver-based ACT, which sells audio,
video and Internet conferencing products and services, uses a hybrid hardware architecture designed to
support IP and TDM/PSTN conferencing on a single chassis. TDM/PSTN technologies are used in the
traditional voice telephone network.
"There is no question that audio conferencing will migrate from TDM to IP," Gene Warren, president
and chief executive for ACT, said in a statement.
The ClarionCall II VoIP system can be based on the client's
or ACT's premises, and supports multiple languages.
